This Privacy Policy describes how the Feeds mobile application (the "App") handles information when you use it. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

Feeds is designed to respect your privacy. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII) about you. Specifically, the App does not require:

• An account, sign-in, or registration of any kind
• Your name, email address, phone number, or contacts
• Your precise or approximate location
• Photos, files, or media from your device

2. Information Stored Locally on Your Device

All of your reading data stays on your device. The App stores the following locally using your device's storage and a local SQLite database:

• RSS / Atom feed URLs you have subscribed to
• Cached articles and feed metadata for offline reading
• Your read / unread / bookmarked status for articles
• Followed feed bundles and category preferences
• App settings (theme, sort order, refresh intervals, etc.)

This data is never sent to us. Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data.

3. Network Requests

To fetch news content, the App makes direct network requests to:

• The RSS / Atom feed URLs you choose to subscribe to (operated by third parties)
• Article and image URLs referenced inside those feeds

These requests are made directly from your device to the publisher's servers. Those publishers may log standard request information (such as your IP address and User-Agent) under their own privacy policies. We do not control and are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third-party sources.

4. Firebase (Cloud Firestore)

The App uses Google Firebase Cloud Firestore in read-only mode to deliver a curated list of predefined feed bundles (e.g. "Technology", "Sports") that you can optionally browse and follow. When you open the bundles screen, the App downloads this public catalog from Firestore.

Firebase may automatically collect limited technical information (such as IP address and basic device identifiers) as part of standard service operation, governed by Google's Privacy Policy. We do not use Firebase Authentication, Analytics, Crashlytics, or Cloud Messaging in this App.

5. Permissions

The App requests only the minimum permissions required for its functionality:

• Internet access — to download RSS feeds, articles, and images.
• Background execution / scheduled jobs — to periodically refresh your subscribed feeds in the background using Android's WorkManager.
• Notifications (optional, Android 13+) — to alert you about new articles, only if you grant this permission.

6. Advertising and Tracking

The App does not show ads, does not use advertising identifiers, and does not include any third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.

7. Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. Since the App does not collect personal data at all, it is generally suitable for all ages, but parental discretion is advised because content from third-party RSS feeds is not curated or filtered by us.

8. Data Security

Because all your subscriptions and reading data are stored only on your device, the security of that data depends on your device's own security (lock screen, OS updates, etc.). Network requests use HTTPS whenever the underlying feed publisher supports it.

9. Your Rights and Choices

• You can remove any subscribed feed at any time from within the App.
• You can clear cached articles via the App's settings.
• You can revoke notification permission from your device's system settings.
• Uninstalling the App permanently deletes all locally stored data.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be reflected on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes may also be announced inside the App.
